A CT scan can be performed of any part of the body that your doctor wishes to see, to help in diagnosis of a problem, to better define a known problem or to monitor for a change.
Depending upon the clinical history and the appearances of the scan it may be recommended that you have an injection of IV contrast.
You will be positioned on your back with your head resting in a small headrest and only your head will pass through the scanner.
A CT Head includes Sinuses, Facial Bones, Dental and Petrous Bones.
Before your Scan
There is no preparation required for a CT Head.
