This represents a significant leap forward in healthcare for the Gawler and Barossa region, and completes the comprehensive range of imaging services Jones Radiology offers including CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, Breast Imaging, Fluoroscopy, Bone Density and Interventional procedures.

MRI is an imaging modality which does not use radiation and provides excellent assessment of multiple body regions including brain, spine, joints and abdominopelvic regions (e.g. liver, bowel, pelvis and prostate).

The machine that has been installed in Gawler is a wide bore, designed for patient comfort and reducing the risk of claustrophobia.

Dr Mitchell Raeside, Clinic Director of Jones Radiology Gawler Health Service clinic says:

“Having a MRI scanner locally in Gawler will provide more timely and convenient access for patients, reducing the need to travel long distances, and provide support for hospital patients both in Gawler and from the surrounding regional hospitals."
“This is an exciting development for the Gawler Health Service and the region more generally.”

We look forward to offering MRI services locally, reducing the need for patients to travel into Adelaide, and facilitating timely access to this important imaging modality.

Referrals will be accepted from both general practitioners and specialists.

MRI services are now available at our Gawler clinic between Monday and Friday, bookings can be made by calling 1800 375 663.
